Safeguarding
It's extremely important not to remain silent about suspicions of abuse. Suspicions or knowledge of abuse within the Church’s activities must be reported to the police or social authorities.
Suspicions or knowledge of abuse should also be reported as soon as possible to our Child Protection Officer Katarina Miksits:

Everyone’s responsibility
We can and should all contribute to preventing abuse. Here are some recommendations:
-
An adult should not be alone with a minor when there is little possibility for others to see what they are doing.
-
Always strive to have two adults present in activities for children and young people. Anyone working with minors should not meet individuals privately with the purpose of building a relationship outside the regular activities.
-
When children and young people are being transported by car, ensure that there is more than one passenger in each vehicle. For outings, have a common meeting point for dropping off and picking up children.
-
When accommodating minors, a single child and an adult must never share a bedroom. When accommodation is arranged in private homes, at least two minors should be placed together.
The above precautionary measures apply to everyone, without exception. They are intended to increase safety for all within the Church. They are meant to minimize the risk of abuse, but also the risk of possible false accusations of abuse.
