Marriage preparation course in English

We’re getting married!

When planning a wedding in the Catholic Church, you should contact a Catholic parish close to where you live. The addresses of all Catholic parishes in Sweden can be found here. Please contact the parish before booking the celebration and other arrangements for the wedding. The different preparation procedures in the Church take time and you need to ensure that there is a priest or deacon available on the desired day.

Information booklet
This booklet provides information on how the Catholic Church looks at marriage an answer many practical questions about how to proceed if you are planning a Catholic wedding:

If you are not able to participate in a Marriage preparation course in Swedish held by the Pastoral Family team, you are welcome to sign up for a course in English online. The group will be small - only three to five couples and the couple leading the course. We will meet together one evening via Microsoft Teams, and the next week we will meet just you and your future spouse for a follow up.

There are online courses in English courses both spring and autumn, and you should participate in a course 4-8 months before your wedding date. You register using this form. You can change language to English in the top right corner. On the form you enter your contact information and some details about your wedding plans. We will get back to you via e-mail and suggest an online course.

Before the meetings you will complete some written exercises and discuss your answers with each other and watch some videos together.

We will cover among other things:
• Male and female He created them: theological foundation
